A grande viagem – Culto Matinal Bilíngue

Good morning everyone! I would like to welcome all of you who are here this morning. I am going to start by thanking God for the opportunity to be here talking to you and I also want to thank our pastor Moisés and this church for the opportunity to preach the gospel here. I also want to make an honorable mention to the presence of pastors Paulo, John, and Mrs. Vanda, who are visiting our church this morning Welcome! This morning we are going to talk about travel. How many of you like to travel? I really like to travel! Traveling is a very good thing! I have researched about the destinations where people love to travel, and I saw that the favorite city of travelers is Bangkok, the capital of Thailand. I never traveled to Bangkok, the capital of
Thailand, but I have very precise memories on the trip I took when I was a child. That was the best trip of my life. This happened in 2002, when I was 10 years old. I traveled to the city of Santarém,
a city in the neighboring state of Pará. On that trip, I was accompanied by my grandmother, my aunt and my cousin. Although of the fact that this occurred 17 years ago, I remember many details of what happened on that trip. The first special thing about this trip, is
that it was my first boat trip. It took two days to go,
and two days to return. And of all the things that happened during the trip, all I most liked was to admire the natural beauty. I found it very beautiful to see dolphins making great leaps before our eyes. I also liked to look at the birds that were on the riverbanks, and the others birds that were flying very close to the boat. All things were very beautiful, but the thing I liked most, was watching the sunrise and sunset. I really enjoy watching this marvel of God’s creation! Then, after almost two days of travel, we arrived in the city of Santarém, and we stayed there for two days. And after those two days, we traveled to my uncle’s farm, in the countryside. And it was there in that place (on my uncle’s farm), that happened the best experiences of the trip. There we bathe in the river, we fish, we harvested and ate many fruits. And it was in that place, too, where it happened a great adventure. And that was what most impacted our trip. One day, my cousin and I were walking in an area of native forest,
on my uncle’s farm. And it was an area of the forest where there were big trees. We were following a trail, in the middle of the forest, when suddenly we hear a noise of wood breaking. A big tree, which was in front of us, at the edge of the trail, started to break and fall in the direction we were walking. So we turned back and started running really fast, to escape what would be a terrible accident. And after a few seconds of running, we heard the big tree falling right next to us. What a great deliverance of God! That was the best trip of my life, but it could have been my last trip. And the last trip, is one thing that some day will happen in the lives of all of us. It will happen in my life and in your life. One day we will all do our last travel. Then you can say: Oh, but I don’t like travelling. I like to always stay in the same place. But this is not your choice, you will be required to make this trip. This place that we live in today is not our final destination. The Earth, the place where we live today, it is just a place of preparation, for the place where we will live forever. And there is a big decision that we need to make while we are living here in the Earth. This decision will define where we will go spend all eternity. And that’s why we need to be very careful and not to go the wrong way, because if we choose the wrong path, we will not reach the destination that God has prepared for each one of us. Let’s imagine the following situation Imagine you spend the whole year getting ready to take a trip. You plan the place where you will be staying, you research the places you will visit, you seek to know what you are going to eat in that place, and you are waiting for all that. And you are there anxious, waiting to arrive the day of your trip. Then the scheduled day comes and you embark on your journey. You leave thrilled, excited, because you will spend your vacation in the place you planned, so the moment you get off the plane, you see that this is not the same place you were waiting for … you went to the wrong place. That would be a big disappointment. That would be like to see destroyed the dream that you spent months to build. That would be you throw all your plans in the trash And I would like you to bring that reflection into your life, because this situation can happen with the destination of our lives, if we don’t follow the correct path that God has prepared for us to arrive where he wants us to go. Many people are getting lost, because they are not following the path that God has choose. But the good news for each of us is that God has not left us here without direction. He left the GPS with us, which is his Word. Here in this book, He is telling us which way we should follow, He tells us everything we must do to reach the final destination. There is a question that we should all ask ourselves, and that question, every traveler asks himself, before start a journey. The question is as follows:
Where do I want to go? All the people who are going to travel want to know where they are going where they will arrive, and what they are going to do when get there. Because it’s not enough for you to know where you want to go, you need to know what you’re going to do in that place, and most importantly, you need to know how you will get there. And for this great trip that we will go do, there are two paths, and each path takes us to a different destination. And God leave us free, to decide which path we are going to follow. This morning I wanna ask you this question: Have you decided which destination you are going to spend all eternity? Let me tell you a little more about these two destinations. There is a path you can choose, that leads to a very unpleasant place. This place is a place of darkness, crying, and a lot of suffering. It is a place totally separated from the presence of God, totally far from all that is good. This will be the destination of all those who reject God’s instructions, of those people who refused to go in the right path. All of us, all people, due to the sin of the first man, called Adão, they were born predisposed to follow this path that leads to perdition. Our initial destiny is to walk away from the presence of God. But God doesn’t want you to go that way, He doesn’t want you to spend the eternity away from His presence. He has a new path prepared for you, He has a much better place for you to spend all your eternity. And I am going to show you this true, in God’s word. We will now read the text in the second epistle of Peter, chapter 3, verse 9. The God’s Word says: The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness but is longsuffering to us-ward not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance. God doesn’t want you to perish, He doesn’t want you to spend all eternity apart from him. He has another place, another destination, prepared for all of us. And I will read another text from the Word of God, where Jesus Christ tells us about that. This text is in the gospel of John, chapter 14, verses 2 and 3: In my Father’s house there are many mansions; if
not, I would have told you. I go to prepare a place for you. And when I go and prepare a place for you,
I will come again, and receive you unto myself, That where I am, ye may be also. This is the place that God has prepared for me and you, it is a place of peace, of great joy, in the eternal presence of God. But not all people are going to that place, there is a requirement for you to reach that place. You need to purchase your ticket, your pass card, to get to this place. The ticket that allows you to enter this place is to surrender your life to the Lord Jesus Christ. It’s not possible to enter this place if you have no the ticket, because it will not be allowed. So the only manner, the only way that exists, is the Lord Jesus Christ. And the people who have already surrendered theirs lives to the Lord Jesus Christ, they have their destination reserved, to spend all eternity in the presence of God. But the other people, who have not yet acquired their ticket to reach the presence of God, they still have a chance to acquire it. And the good news is that the path is not hidden, the path is accessible to everyone. And God wants us all to know the right way. This is in his Word, in the Gospel of John, chapter 14, verse 6. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. Then, all of humanity follows on its own the route that leads to the wrong destination. But as God doesn’t want anyone to get lost, He shows us which way we should go. And Jesus appeared on this world and said:
I AM THE WAY, FOLLOW ME. He gave this opportunity to everyone who was going the wrong way, so that we can walk on the path of life. And if you’re still walking the route that leads to destruction, God is inviting you this morning, to change the route and follow the path of life. Jesus is with His open arms, waiting for you to follow him. Do you remember when I asked how bad it would be for you to imagine spending a lot of your time getting ready to travel to a place, and on the day of travel, reach in the wrong destination? It can happen in your life, if you do not follow Jesus. So if you are going on your own way, if you’re doing your own route, today is the day to you abandon the wrong path and follow Jesus Christ. And I would like to know from you, that is no following Jesus yet, if you really want to spend all eternity in the presence of God. All you have to do is make a decision: stop following your own ways and follow Jesus Christ. And I am offering to you this opportunity this morning. If you’ve spent a lot of time following the path that you thought was right way, or that you thought was the best way, God is inviting you this morning, to stop going your own way, and follow the Lord Jesus Christ. There is someone here this morning who would like to give your life to Jesus? Do you wanna turn the command of your life over to the Lord and let Him lead you into eternal life? Please raise your hand, because I want to pray for you. Remember that if you continue to follow your own way, you can reach a destination that you don’t want to reach, and that God doesn’t want you to go to that place. Is there anybody here this morning who wants to give the control of your life to Jesus? Salomão will stay here in the front of the stage, come here and speak for Salomão, Brother Salomão, today I wanna abandon my ways and I wanna to follow the Lord’s way. Do not allow on the big day, the day of great trip of your life, you find out you have reached the wrong destination. The destination that God has prepared for us is a wonderful place, and it is much better than any place we can imagine on this earth. So come, give your life to God, and let Him define the final destination of your life.
